The Digital Archives of African-Americans in Classical Music is a forthcoming project that will culminate in a website solely dedicated to preserving the legacies of classical musicians throughout the diaspora. This website will contain biographies on hundreds of Black classical musicians, both past and present, and showcase a fully digitized collection of specially curated photographs, concert programs, rare documents, and other music ephemera. To be digitized is a growing photographic collection that already contains over seven-hundred original and vintage photographs of singers, instrumentalists, conductors, composers, and ensembles. Also to be digitized are rare programs and musical ephemera by hundreds of artists. Of particular note are numerous autographed photos and programs, and photo collections directly from the estates of a few legendary figures of the past.
